Téma:	Alternative to CardTable?

BilboAtBagEnd:
Hello,
I was wondering if there were an alternative to CardTable.I don't own a Windows machine---just a couple of Macs and a couple of Linux boxes.
I wouldn't mind some Java-based alternative.... or a Java version of CardTable.
Thanks!

Someone I know dug into CardTable and determined that actually the underlying code is in something not Windows specific (I don't recall for certain which technology) and that therefore it ought to be portable to his Mac, but he failed. But it suggests there may be hope.

Geirröd:
The Sourcecode of CardTable is written in Tcl/Tk and since it underlies the GPL there should be no major problem to compile it for other operation systems than Windows.
The problem is, that the downloadable binary version (as you said only for windows) of CardTable does not come with it's sourcecode and the programmer does not react on emails (there is an email-adress in the readme and as far as i remember, kilrah(?) wrote him, but did not get any response).
There is a modified version of CardTable called Holotable specialized on the Star Wars TCG and so there must be the sourcecode somewhere "out there in the internet". Therefore asking for the code in other forums, related to Holotable could be worth a try.
Greetings Geirröd

Already tried that---I don't think CardTable is GPL, because it used a proprietary Tcl/Tk library...

Apparently other people have tried to contact him, with the same lack of result (as the author of Holotable said on his website).

Nope---Holotable was a rewrite from scratch since the CardTable author wasn't willing to distribute source code.If CardTable was ever GPL, it sure isn't anymore.
I will see about Holotable. Thanks for the tip.:)
By the way, hello everybody.:)
