(1) Characters with values of 7/0 or 0/7 have moon values of 3.
(2) Characters with values of 6/3, 3/6, 6/2, 2/6, 4/5, 5/4 have moon values of 2.
(3) Characters with values of 4/4, 4/3 or 3/4 have moon values of 1.
(4) Pair characters with total values of 7 or 8 each have moon values of 2.
(5) Pair characters with total values of 5 or 6 each have moon values of 1.
(6) Other characters have a moon value of zero.
(7) Boosters of values of 3/3, 3/1, 1/3 have moon values of 2.
(8) Boosters of values of 2/2, 2/1, 1/2 have moon values of 1.
(9) Supports with values of 2/1 or 1/2 have moon values of 1.
(10) Supports with values of 3/1 or 1/3 have moon values of 2.
(11) The "Tomb of Wisdom" support (3/3) has 3 moons.
(12) But the gang symbol or the retrieve symbol will add one additional moon to the card. Also the shield symbol will add one additional moon to the card.
(13) Special Texts will add a number of moon values to the cards, depending on the power of the special texts.

Concerning 8:
2/1 boosters with pair symbol have 1 moon, 2/1 boosters without Symbol have 0 moons (see Mimix)
Concerning 7: 3/1 boosters with pair symbols have 2 moons, there are two 3/2 (resp. 2/3) boosters that come with the vulca and the terrah which have only one moon.
